Chocolate butter biscuits are oven baked and flavoured with vanilla essence.
Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 200g  butter
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 cup castor sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
- Icing sugar
Method
- In a large mixing bowl combine together the butter and sugar.
- Mix the ingredients well to form a smooth consistency.
- Stir in the vanilla essence.
- Add in the flour and mix to form a dough.
- Break off portions of the dough to form small balls.
- Flatten the tops of the biscuit with a fork slightly.
- Place the biscuits on an ovenproof tray and bake for 8-10 minutes on 180 degrees until lightly brown underneath.
- Remove the biscuits from the oven when baked and set it aside.
- Allow the biscuits to cool.
- Dust or sift icing sugar on the tops of each biscuit.
