Butter biscuits flavoured in lemon essence are baked in the oven until golden brown.


  • 250g butter
  • 3/4 cup icing sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon lemon esssence
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence


  1. In a large mixing bowl combine butter and sugar together.
  2. Mix the ingredients well to form a creamy consistency.
  3. Add in the eggs and mix well.
  4. Stir in the lemon and vanilla essence.
  5. Add the sifted flour and baking powder into the butter mixture.
  6. Mix the mixture well to form a smooth dough.
  7. Place the biscuit dough into the fridge for 1o minutes.
  8. Pipe or mold the biscuits into shapes.
  9. Bake the biscuits on 180 degrees for 10 minutes or until golden brown underneath.
